Nestlé enters plant-based seafood alternatives

Nestlé revealed today, that it is introducing an alternative to Tuna. The first step to the rising demand for plant-based seafood products.

In addition, A variety of dishes such as salads, sandwiches and pizzas are available with the plant-based tuna substitute. It has the flaccid texture and rich aroma that makes Tuna in many meals a favourite.

Made from just six plant-based ingredients, it’s rich in nutritious pea protein, one of the plant-based protein’s most environmentally friendly sources. Moreover, It is free of artificial colourations or preservatives and contains all essential amino acids.

Stefan Palzer, Nestlé’s Technology Manager, said: However “We are excited to launch this great product and other plant-based fish and shellfish alternatives. Which is already developed in Nestlé. “Sustained plant-based seafood alternatives will help minimise overfishing and to protect oceans biodiversity in our oceans.”

Nestlé developed the plant-based seafood alternative within 9 months

Particularly, In 9 months, Nestlé created the tuna alternative and acquired its deep expertise in protein science and proprietary technology. However, range of plant-driven items, including burgers, slimmers, meatballs, sausages, cold cuts, chicken nuggets and chicken fillets, are already in the business.

Nestlé Research in Switzerland and the R & D dedicated food production centres in Germany and the U.S. developed the products. To improve their pace on the market, and first commercial lots are developing at Nestlé research and development facilities.

The product is launching for the first time under the Swiss Garden Gourmet name. Addition to that, The launch consists of a cooled product available in a glass container, along with selected store plant tuna sandwiches. Nestlé will announce Additional implementation plans in due course.
